Import Outlook "Contacts" information or User information into CalendarWiz:

To import Users into CalendarWiz, you must have your User information in a .csv file format.  If you want to import your Outlook "Contacts"  into CalendarWiz you must first export the information into a .csv file.

Export your contacts from Outlook as a .csv file or 'common separated values' file.

1. Open Outlook and click on your 'Contacts' folder in MS Outlook.
2. Go to File Menu -> Select Import and Export
3. Select 'Export to a File'-> Next
4. Select 'Comma Separated Values Windows' -> Next
5. Choose a place to save the file on your local computer and name the file so that it is easy to find.
6. Click Finish

Import .csv file of User information into CalendarWiz:

7. Login to your CalendarWiz calendar -> Go to Admin Menu -> Users and Groups -> Import Users Tab
8. Follow instructions on the Import Users Tab for preparing your file for import.

Be sure that your column headings in the first row of your .csv file match the columns listed on our Import Users admin screen.

9. Once your file is ready for import, click the Browse button to locate your import file on your local computer.

Note: you may set up your calendar users with or without a screen name and password.  If you do not import  "Screen Name" and "Password" information in your .csv file, you may check to "Create Screen Names and Passwords if missing" to have the system automatically assign a unique screen name and password to each user.

10.  Click the Import Button

General information on Users:

Users of the calendar can recieve automated event Reminders and Announcements via email.  To update a user's account information or manually assign login information:

Go to Admin Menu -> Users and Groups -> Select User from drop down -> Click Edit -> Enter a screen name and password -> Save and Email Login info to the user.

CalendarWiz Users can have three different levels of authority:

Administrators - can view and edit everything in the calendar.  You will want to be careful to whom you give this level of permission to since he/she can edit all calendar events and calendar-wide settings.

Category Managers - can add/edit events in a designated category or categories but do not have access to changing any calendar-wide settings.

Users (without management authority) - may be set up with or without a screen name and password but in both cases users can recieve event reminders.  A screen name and password allows a user to view private categories and receive event reminders and announcements from private categories.  Users without management authority cannot edit the calendar.  Calendar Administrators control which categories these users can view.
