How can I import an .ics file into CalendarWiz? |
|
|
Some calendar programs, such as MS Exchange and Google, only allow their calendar events to be exported as .ics files. In order to import those events into CalendarWiz, you must first import the .ics file into your local Outlook calendar and then export from your local Outlook calendar into a .csv file. The .csv file can be imported into CalendarWiz. See below for detailed instructions:
To Import the .ics file into Outlook: 1. Open Outlook and click on "Calendar" 2. Go to "File" then select "Import and Export” 3. Select "Import an iCalendar or vCalendar file (.vcs)” 4. Browse to find .ics file for import and select file.
Depending on the version of Outlook you are using, the file may automatically import into your local Outlook calendar or it might ask if you want to open this as a new calendar. If asked, you may click “Open As New” if you want to export only these events into CalendarWiz.
Prepare File For Import into CalendarWiz.
Before uploading, prepare your import file on your computer. Your import file must contain column headings in the first row similar to Microsoft Outlook Calendar export format. Remaining rows must contain valid event data.

*Note: Categories are used to group events into separate calendar views. Categories in your import file that match exactly with existing calendar categories will place events in those matching categories. Categories that are not already in your calendar will be imported as new categories. The total number of existing plus new categories cannot exceed the total number of categories allowed for your calendar subscription. Trial calendars are limited to three categories. Contact support@calendarwiz.com for more categories.

Problems With Import

Problems identified will prevent you from importing your events and must be corrected in the import file before you can proceed. Some typical warnings and problems are:
WARNING (able to proceed after review)
